This is a nice and flavorful baked bean recipe that I like to take to potluck dinners and picnics.
For a nice smoke flavor, add some liquid smoke to the recipe.

  • 1 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh or jarred ginger
  • A small pinch of cayenne pepper
  • salt to taste
  • 2- 15 oz.cans of 365 navy beans, drained and rinsed
  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Heat the oil in a deep, saucepan. Add the onion and sauté over low heat until it is translucent.
  3. Add the garlic and continue to sauté until the onion is lightly browned.

susan g says: I'll be trying this soon! Here's one I've submitted -- http://www.food52.com/recipes/10585 -- for a different take. I like to use smoked paprika for the 'smoky taste.'
