You may need a little more or less bread crumbs than the recipe calls for. Just keep adding until the texture is right. We enjoy these quite often at our house. We serve them with leaf lettuce, sliced red onion, and extra teriyaki sauce. Delicious!
- 1 pound Lean ground turkey
- 1/2 cup Dry bread crumbs
- 3 - 4 Green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger root, zested
- 1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1/4 cup Pineapple juice
- 4 Fresh pineapple slices, cored
- Thick teriyaki sauce
Gently combine turkey, bread crumbs, green onions, ginger, pineapple juice and salt in a bowl.
Form into 4 patties. I like to make a small hole in the center of my patties to ensure even cooking.
Grill them on an outdoor grill.
When the burgers are almost done, put pineapple slices on grill for a few minutes.
In the last couple of minutes of grilling burgers, baste them with teriyaki sauce.
Assemble your burgers on a bun with a pineapple slice and whatever other condiments you enjoy.
